This unusual stat determines how many things play out in your farming adventure. The higher your Luck, the better your rewards for mining, fishing, farming, and more. You’ll get some excellent Luck boosts from items like the Special Charm and the Lucky Ring, but there’s no contest compared to what you can get from food items.
5. Spicy Eel
Buff length: 7m Eel is a sweet and savory meat that goes great with just a little bit of spice. It’s so good; I feel lucky whenever I get a chance to eat it. The same happens in Stardew Valley, where eating a serving of Spicy Eel will boost your Speed and Luck to make you the fastest, luckiest farmer ever to walk Pelican Town. This combination of Speed and Luck is perfect for heading down into the Mines and gathering tons of geodes. Get the recipe from George after 7+ Hearts, or farm Spicy Eel from Serpents in the Skull Cavern.
4. Shrimp Cocktail
Buff length: 10m2s The sea has given us much – but nothing quite as delicious as a Shrimp Cocktail. Can you picture anything more satisfying than dunking a shrimp into the classic cocktail sauce before dropping it victoriously into your mouth? It’s the kind of thing that makes you feel lucky to be alive and raises your Luck in Stardew Valley. Thanks to the extra Luck and a temporary buff to your Fishing level, the Shrimp Cocktail is a submarine treasure hunter’s best friend. You’re more likely to hook some treasure, and it’ll be more valuable. Regrettably, the only way to get the recipe is by watching the Queen of Sauce on the 28th of Winter of the second year. Until then, you’ll have to rely on something else.
3. Pumpkin Soup
Buff length: 7m41s Forget fishing. Real Stardew Valley buffs prefer to risk their lives in the Mines and the Skull Cavern for cash. You’re not worthy of your treasure if you didn’t bleed for it – or so the saying goes. If you want to keep the bleeding to a minimum, the Pumpkin Soup’s significant Luck and Defense boosts are a no-brainer. Not only will you take less damage from enemies, but anything you smash free from the rocks is bound to be more valuable. You’ll also get 200 extra Energy to keep breaking rocks. Getting this recipe is the main reason I bother getting my friendship with Robin as high as 7 Hearts.
2. Lucky Lunch
Buff length: 11m11s What could be luckier than something called a Lucky Lunch? This unusual dish – featuring ingredients as weird as Sea Cucumber and Blue Jazz flowers – will give your character a +3 boost to Luck. In addition, the buff actually lasts over 11 minutes, which is almost an entire in-game day. You’ll sometimes find this item on sale at the Stardrop Saloon, the Traveling Cart, and Krobus’ Shop, but cooking is the most reliable way to get it. The Queen of Sauce airs this recipe for the first time on the 28th of Spring of the second year.
1. Magic Rock Candy
Buff length: 8m30s The single highest boost to Luck you can get from a food item in Stardew Valley is +5, and you can only get it from the Magic Rock Candy. This rainbow-colored lollipop is one of the most potent meals in the game, granting sizable boosts to Speed, Defense, and Attack on top of Luck. It also fully restores your Energy and Health. Overall, you can’t get a better lucky meal than the MRC. Unluckily for us, it’s pretty hard to get. The primary way to get Magic Rock Candy is trading in three Prismatic Shards at the Desert Trader’s. You’ll also need Prismatic Shards for the Galaxy Sword and to complete your Museum collection, so think twice before getting this glittery candy.
