That said, I can see why many of you would want to dive right in and purchase one of the new consoles. New products, especially ones that we have been waiting on for a long time, are always a thing of excitement and joy. Even I have pondered if buying one of the consoles would benefit me. So while I won’t be getting one anytime soon, here are five reasons one should go next-gen.
Consoles are extremely easy to set up.
PCs are great for living rooms, but anytime I have ever gotten a console, I have been surprised at how easy it is to set up. All you have to do is plug it into the television, then the wall, and then you are done. No mess, no stress. All of the sudden, your TV is now a window into the great world of advertisements, dashboards, and advertisements on your dashboard… Oh and some games too!
Call of Duty.
I can’t stand Call of Duty. The series that once was innovative eight-to-ten years ago is now a shell of its former self. However, it is still extremely popular to the kiddies and to some adults who like to game for a couple of matches before rejoining their lives of bill paying and other miscellaneous responsibilities. With the series having a long time problem of hackers on the PC, the consoles really are the best way to play the yearly first person shooter.
Exclusives are good.
When Beyond: Two Souls and The Last of Us came out, I was disappointed that I did not have a PS3. It seems that one of the best reasons to own a next-gen console is for the console exclusives. Games like Destiny and Knack are great examples of why one would get a PS4 or Xbox One. While the PC gets most of the games that consoles get, they don’t get all of them.
The customer support.
OK, I know. The customer support for any company usually isn’t that great. However, I usually find that both Sony and Microsoft have decent customer support when things don’t work as planned. Remember, these are the same companies that replaced their overheating consoles free of charge to the consumer during the last generation. As much flak that these two companies receive, they at least have better customer support than EA.
It’s the holidays!
My friends, there is a very good chance that you will be able to get your console for free if you play your cards right. It is, after all, the holiday season. It’s the time to be merry and giving and stuff. You may not be able to get your shiny new console by the end of the year, but you may be able to butter up your loved one (please do not send me any details) and get it ordered and prepared for delivery during the first part of next year.
Will you be getting one of the two new consoles this holiday season? Comment Below!
