90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’s Aladin decided to have a one-on-one with Liam in a bathhouse. The awkward confrontation stemmed from unresolved issues that happened due to Liam refusing to support his mother’s decisions.
Laura was 51 years old when she met Aladin, who was 29, on Facebook. After only eight months of talking, she flew to Qatar where he worked, and the couple became engaged a couple of days later. When the TLC show aired, fans found out that the couple was already married. During the season, the cameras followed the couple as they planned their traditional three-day Tunisian wedding.
A trip to the historic bathhouses of Tunisia led to an uncomfortable altercation between Aladin and Laura’s son, Liam, on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Aladin tried his best to chat with his stepson, but the conversation took a weird turn when Aladin mentioned having children with Laura. The pair had not even changed into their swimsuits before tensions ran high. Aladin waned to speak with Liam concerning the way he had been acting towards the wedding. Liam chose to not attend two out of the three nights of the wedding celebration and stayed in his hotel room alone. Aladin’s family found this behavior to be rude and were confused about why Liam would choose to travel across the world only to refuse to attend the festivities. Liam admitted that he had some major reservations when it came to his mother marrying Aladin, but he was trying to move past them. The conversation came to an abrupt end when Aladin mentioned having children with Laura because the doctors told him it would be fine. Liam grew angry at this revelation and tried explaining to his stepfather that she was too old to bear children and had told him she didn’t want to have children with the personal trainer.
It seemed that Aladin and Liam both wanted to break down barriers and get to know each other as the conversation started. Liam told his stepfather that he just wanted to make sure Aladin was a decent guy. He wanted Aladin to understand all his mother had been through in the past with her relationships. Liam seemed to want to convey a sense of urgency when it came to both Aladin and Laura’s understanding of what they were getting themselves into. Aladin tried to extend an olive branch to Liam, explaining that going to the bathhouse was a tradition in his culture. The Tunisian explained that men would go there before the wedding with friends to relax and talk, almost like a bachelor party.
The two men eventually ended the conversation with no clear resolution. Aladin continued with his day at the spa while Liam seemed to storm off. Hopefully, for Laura’s sake, Liam makes the right choice to show up and support his mother on her special day. As far as Aladin is concerned, having a relationship with Liam is on the back burner until the two can learn to communicate better.
